Ganba no Bōken


is a Japanese anime series that was created by Atsuo Saitoh and directed by Osamu Dezaki. Its 26 episodes were broadcast on NTV between April 7, 1975 and September 29, 1975. A first movie was released March 3, 1984. The series has been adapted into a movie, called , which was released in Japan by Tokyo Movie Shinsha on September 20, 1991. On March 4, 2003 Bandai released a puzzle and action PlayStation game called ''Ganba no Bōken: The Puzzle Action''.
== Plot ==
Ganba, a brown rat, embarks on a journey sailing with his childhood friend. They gather mice experienced in sailing at a harbour. They encounter Chūta, a mouse which has been injured and is seeking help. He appeals for Ganba and Bōbo to assist him in defending the island Yumemishima and its inhabitants from the invading Noroi Clan. It is revealed that the Noroi are cruel and wicked. Ganba elects to sail to Yumemishima with Chūta to help defend the island, and Ganba recruits more mice to join their cause on the island.
